These are the areas in which we need assistance:

Communications Committee – Photographer / Videographer

WICT Midwest Chapter Communications Committee is looking for a photographer / videographer volunteer to take pictures and record snippets of programming events for inclusion on the WICT Website and Social Media posts. This volunteer will attend all possible events and will partner with other committee members to showcase our events. The time commitment is anticipated to be 2-4 hours per month.

Communications Committee – Graphic Designer

WICT Midwest Chapter Communications Committee is looking for volunteer graphic designer to work with the Technology Chair and Webmaster in designing content, banners, and logos for the chapter website in compliance with the WICT Style Guide. The time commitment is anticipated to be around 2-5 hours per month.

Communications Committee – Marketing Specialist

WICT Midwest Chapter Communications Committee is looking for a marketing volunteer to work with the Communications Committee on a plan to expand the marketing of our chapter’s programs and membership drives through the use of targeted marketing strategies.  The time commitment is anticipated to be around 5 hours per month initially then approximately 2 hours per month after the initial marketing strategy is produced.

Communications Committee – Communications Volunteer

WICT Midwest Chapter Communications Committee is looking for volunteer to assist with preparing and sending out communication announcements to membership. This includes intake of communication needs, preparing the communications, seeking approvals, and setting up the email blast using Constant Contact and Eventbrite. The time commitment is anticipated to be around 4 -8 hours per month.

Communications Committee – Business Analyst

WICT Midwest Chapter Communications Committee is looking for volunteer to assist the webmaster and appropriate Board Member to elicit and document requirements needed for major website changes or newly created pages.  The estimated time commitment is 2-4 hours per month.

Communications / Social Media Committee – Signature Events Communications Lead

WICT Midwest Chapter Social Media Committee is looking for a volunteer to work with the Tech-it-Out and Spirit of the Midwest Chairs to create and execute a communications plan. This includes email, social media and website communications. The time commitment is anticipated to be around 8-10 in February for planning and 2-5 hours per month in March, April and May.

Communications / Social Media Committee – Engagement Lead

WICT Midwest Chapter Social Media Committee is looking for a volunteer to seek out relevant educational articles on topics such as leadership, income potential, career advancement and diversity to post on our social media platforms. This person will also work with other board members such as membership and mentorship to highlight relevant chapter news and encourage members to comment, like and share their posts.  The time commitment is anticipated to be around 2-4 hours per month.

Membership Committee (North and South participation)

WICT Midwest Chapter is looking for volunteers to attend the onsite membership events and assist with registration and distribution of flyers.  These volunteers will talk to existing members and help to identify future members.  Volunteers will also assist with writing communications that are needed throughout the year.  The time commitment is expected to be 1-2 hours per month (does not include time at WICT events)

Sponsorship Committee – Sponsorship and Auction committee Members

WICT Midwest Chapter Sponsorship Committee is looking for 2 volunteers to work with the Director of Finance and Sponsorship Chair in contacting potential sponsors for events and the Spirit of the Midwest auction for 2020. Volunteers will contact potential sponsors for events and/or the SOM’s auction, track sponsors, coordinate with Director of Finance for invoicing and tax information. The time commitment is anticipated to be around 2 hours per month during the initial launch and around 1 hour per month in the following months.

Tech It Out Volunteer – Event Coordination

WICT Midwest Chapter Tech- It- Out Committee is looking for volunteers to assist with preparations for this signature event that will be held on May 14, 2020. The tasks will include ordering and preparing name badges, preparing gifts for the speakers, assisting with registration, setting up and tearing down signs and booths at the event. At least 6 volunteers are needed as follows:

  • Tech It Out – Pre Event Coordination (Ordering, preparing badges, coordinating speaker gifts) 10 hours prior to the event
  • Tech it Out – Day of Event (Registration) 2 hours
  • Tech it Out – Day of Event (Registration) 2 hours
  • Tech it Out – Day of Event (Set Up/Tear Down/Sponsor coordinator) 2 hours
  • Tech it Out – Day of Event (Speaker Coordinator) All Day / Entire Event
  • Tech it Out – Day of Event (Jack of all trades) All Day / Entire Event

This month’s volunteer spotlight is Emilie Gragert

Emilie Gragert is a manager with the Financial Reporting Team at Charter Communications. She has a Masters in Accountancy from Truman State University, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. Emilie is also a Certified Public Accountant.  Emilie started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, moved to BJC, and finally Express Scripts before starting her career at Charter. She is also a Head Coach for a club volleyball team in St. Louis, as well the Finance Manager. Volleyball has been a huge part of her life since she was in grade school. By helping the club Emilie combines both,  her love for volleyball in my life as well as combining her knowledge in accounting/finance.
